I’m a British freelance writer and proofreader based in Leeds. I enjoy writing readable, sparky copy that connects with audiences and gets noticed by search engines.
As a certified copywriter, I know how to match my tone of voice to the brand and occasion. From long-form articles to chatty social media captions, I find the right words, in the right order.
After spending much of my twenties working in education, I took the opportunity to move overseas. A decade spent living in Lusaka, Hong Kong, Prague and, most recently, Colombo has taught me a lot about adaptability. I’m also now a dab hand at suitcase packing. (In case you were wondering, roll don’t fold.)
During this time, I’ve built a successful family travel blog, learning a lot about SEO, Google Analytics and social media management on the way. Many of my blog posts are now highly ranked with Google for their chosen keywords. I’ve also written for various national and international travel and culture publications. My work has appeared in The Guardian, Lonely Planet, Hyperallergic and Culture Trip.
For the last 6 years, I have worked as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader. This has included editing everything from social media posts to educational material. I have also completed copywriting and proofreading courses, both with distinction.
I’ve recently moved back to the north of England, where I live with my husband and two rascally children. I love cups of tea, beautiful children’s books, art galleries and snooker.
The price will depend on the size and complexity of the project. I always quote a fixed amount so there are no surprises. My copywriting rates include:
– An initial briefing on the phone (and follow up conversations as needed)
– All necessary research
– Two rounds of revisions
